I just now noticed that if I, the administrator, add a variable product – different sizes (For example: Pants – M and L) and assign a vendor to it – the product appears in the vendor dashboard.

But if the vendor opens this product and resaves it – it becomes simple! And variations flies as well as the choice of size.

How to avoid it? Turns out it’s a common thing…
Does the free version not support variable products at all, even if the administrator added them?

Maybe I didn’t fully explain:

I give the opportunity to edit the product fields – change the article, enter the dimensions of the product, add a note to the product. And if any of this changes for a variable product (i.e. the vendor presses the “update product” button), the product becomes a simple product! And then it is impossible to return everything back without the help of the administrator.

Is there a way to leave “variable product” as “variable”?
not change it to “simple” when updating meta fields in the vendor dashboard?

But I’m using the free version. And in the free version – if you add a variable product from the admin panel, then in the vendor dashboard – it will be opened as “simple” and will be saved as simple.

@l.gan, if the vendor doesn’t have any variable product add option, then I am afraid they can’t also edit this.

Only admin can edit them.
