      Hi,

      Please check Refund calculations with tax, when tax is added to price.

      E.g. Price is $100
      Tax rate is 6%, so Tax = $6
      Payable = $106
      Refund = $10
      So $10 should be split across Price & Tax
      Expected Price after Refund = $100-($10*$100/$106) = $100-$9.43 = $90.57
      Expected Tax = $6-($10*$6/$106) = $5.43
      However, it’s calculated as
      Price after Refund = $90
      Tax = $6, i.e. tax rate is now $6/$90 = 6.67 %

      Hi there,
      Thank you for reaching out to us and sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue.

      I want to inform you that we tried replicating the issue on our end using the details you shared, but we were unable to recreate the same on our end. To assist you more effectively, could you please provide additional information about the flow?
      It would be really helpful if you could share screenshots of the settings regarding the flow you mentioned and a short video demonstrating how the tax and refund are being calculated in the following cases:

      – For a vendor product

      – For a WooCommerce (admin) product

      This will help us understand the issue more precisely and provide a more accurate solution.

      Looking forward to your response.

      Steps:
      a) As a Woo admin, add a new tax rate in Standard rates Tax rate class – e.g., US(country), NY(state), 6%(rate)
      b) Again as Woo Admin, have these settings in Woo > Tax > Tax Options
      – Prices entered with tax – No, I will enter prices exclusive of tax
      – Calculate tax based on – Customer shipping address
      – Display prices in shop – Excluding Tax
      – Display prices during cart and checkout – Excluding Tax
      – Display tax totals – As a single total
      c) As a vendor, in vendor product, set the following
      – Regular price – $100
      – Tax status – Taxable
      – Tax class – Standard
      d) As a customer, create a new order with shipping address NY, tax rate should be applied automatically and total $106 ($100 – Product Price, Tax $6)
      d) As a vendor, now refund $10 in the vendor dashboard order. Refund is applied. You’ll see the issue I raised from here.

      Hi there,
      Thank you for sharing the detailed steps with us.

      We’ve followed the exact same flow on our end, as outlined in your message, and processed a $10 refund from the vendor dashboard (see this screenshot: https://snipboard.io/NfDO3V.jpg ), the refund is being calculated correctly , the total after refund is showing as $96, which aligns with the expected calculation you mentioned:
      Expected Price after Refund: $100 – ($10 × $100 / $106) = $90.57

      Expected Tax after Refund: $6 – ($10 × $6 / $106) = $5.43

      Total: $90.57 + $5.43 = $96

      This indicates that the refund distribution between product price and tax is functioning as intended on our end.
      Since you’re experiencing a different behavior on your site, could you please create a staging site an exact replica of your live site and share the following :
      – Temporary admin access
      – FTP credentials
      This will allow us to check the issue on your end and provide a solution.

      Please remember to mark your reply as private when sharing this information to keep your data secure.

      Looking forward to your response.

      In your screenshot too, the tax after refund is $6 (not $5.43). That’s the issue.

      Plus another thing in your screenshot. Why is Total Earned $6 – shouldn’t it be $96 as commission is $0? What is being calculated to show $6 value.

      Another thing on the same page (Order details page in vendor dashboard). If the customer applies a coupon while placing an order, the coupon name (e.g. – SAVE10%) has a link but that link goes to wp-admin dashboard instead of going to vendor dashboard’s coupon edit.

      Hi, any updates on the tax calculation issue.

    • #249344

      Hello there,

      Apologies for the delay. Our development team was fully occupied with their pre-assigned development tasks. However, rest assured — they are now looking into the matter, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as we have any progress to share.

      In the meantime, you can also track the status here: https://github.com/multivendorx/mvx/issues/1008.

      Thank you once again for your understanding and cooperation.

      Hello there, Thank you for your cooperation.

      Our team has reviewed the refund flow for cases where tax is applied to the product price. As per the default WooCommerce flow, the product price and the tax amount are handled separately. This means that when issuing a refund, you need to specify the amount to be refunded from the product price and the amount to be refunded from the tax separately. Only then will the deductions apply correctly to both the product price and the tax amount.

      For example, if a product costs ₹100 with 6% tax, the total would be ₹106. When refunding, if you want to deduct from both the product price and the tax, you must enter how much you want to refund from ₹100 and how much from ₹6.

      MultiVendorX follows this same WooCommerce flow. Therefore, if you refund only from the product price (₹100), the deduction will apply only to that amount, and the tax amount will remain unchanged.
