Is there a possibility that a vendor can use Paypal Split-Payment and Stripe Split-Payment at the same time? This would be really handy because I still want to give customers more payment options than just one.

I also got a question which I want to redirect to you: The payment method platform “Wero” is getting more and more famous in EU: https://wero-wallet.eu/
Are there plans to integrate this payment method? Or could you check this out, if you can integrate it, please?

Hello there, Thank you for getting back to us and for sharing your queries in detail. We appreciate the clarity of your questions and are happy to explain the scenario further.

To address your first question: when the marketplace admin enables both PayPal Marketplace and Stripe Marketplace from the admin dashboard, vendors will see both options available in their payment method dropdown. Each vendor can then choose and configure only one payment method for receiving their commissions.

In a scenario where Vendor A connects Stripe and Vendor B connects PayPal, a customer attempting to purchase products from both vendors in a single order will be blocked at the cart stage and will not be able to proceed to checkout. This is because a single order cannot be processed using two different split-payment gateways at the same time. As a result, the system restricts checkout to avoid payment conflicts. Now this can also have a direct impact on the marktplace sales.

Given this behavior, we would love to hear your thoughts on how you would prefer this to be handled. How do you envision overcoming this limitation while still offering customers multiple payment options in a multi-vendor, multi-gateway setup?

Regarding your question about integrating the Wero payment method, while we haven’t received many requests for this integration so far and it isn’t currently part of our immediate roadmap, we truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We’ve shared your feedback with our product enhancement team, who will review it and consider a future implementation based on overall user interest and demand.

      Hello,
I understand and at the time I was writing my question I didn’t think of an order with many vendors at once.

At the weekend I was researching a little bit more and I figured out that I could include paypal within stripe. Do you have made some tests with that? Would this be an option to offer paypal included in stripe and having it as split-payment within stripe? At the moment this would be my only option I can think of.

Does a vendor need a stripe account for stripe-split-payment?

Somehow I didn’t figure out the best option to pay out my vendors without a lot of work or the lack of payment options yet. With the switch to paypal split-payment some of the vendors even didn’t link their shops with paypal and sales dropped. For these cases I have still an option with stripe (with credit card and klarna running, where I had to pay out the vendors manually.

      Hi there,

Thank you for getting back to us and for sharing your perspective.

      1. PayPal integration within Stripe Connect
At the moment, we haven’t tested the integration of PayPal within Stripe on our end. Because of this, it’s difficult for us to provide a definitive answer right now. We would need to review this setup further before offering reliable guidance.

      2. Split payments with Stripe
For vendors to receive their commissions automatically in real time via Stripe split payments, each vendor will need to have their own Stripe Connect account. This is a requirement of Stripe’s payout mechanism.

      3. Receiving the full amount via Stripe
You mentioned an approach where you receive the full payment through Stripe and then pay out vendors separately. This can be achieved using the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway, combined with the Stripe Connect module of MultiVendorX, which allows vendors to receive their commissions automatically.

Since you want to offer both PayPal and Stripe as payment options, it would be very helpful if you could outline the exact payment flow you are aiming to implement. Having a clear picture of your intended setup will allow us to better assess the situation and provide more precise recommendations.

We look forward to your response.

      Hi Sangita,
today I was checking out the Stripe Split Payment on my staging platform. First I figured out it seems like a vendor can connect to Paypal AND Stripe (that’s what I was asking) with the option “All above payment mode”. This is good.

On the other hand, I am a little bit disappointed, that I only can find Credit Card Payment in your Stripe Module. No GooglePay/ApplePay, no Klarna (which use a lot of people in Germany as a Paypal alternative) and no SEPA. Do I do something wrong or don’t you support these? Stripe Connect would support all of these payments and also in the Stripe Payment Methods you also could add Paypal. Only Credit Card and Asian Payment Methods are for a European marketplace a little insufficient.

The ordinary Stripe Plugin can support all of these Payments without extra configurations.

      Hello there,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Vendors can certainly select the “All of the above” option from the dropdown and connect both PayPal and Stripe on their end. However, the dropdown also provides individual options such as Stripe Connect only or PayPal Marketplace only.

If a vendor selects just one of these individual options instead of “All of the above,” it may lead to payment issues for customers at the cart or checkout stage. To avoid this, you can either inform your vendors to select “All of the above” and complete the setup for both Stripe Connect and PayPal Marketplace to ensure smooth and uninterrupted transactions.

Alternatively, you may choose to hide the individual options from the dropdown by adding customisation on your end, so vendors only see and select the “All of the above” option and configure both payment gateways by default.

Regarding support for additional payment methods with Stripe Marketplace (such as Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc.), there is no need to worry. As you may already know, our team is currently working on the MultiVendorX 5.0 revamp, and this upcoming version will include support for these additional Stripe payment options.
We will keep you informed as soon as support for the additional payment options is available.

In the meantime, if you have any further questions or need any assistance, please feel free to let us know. We will be happy to help.

These are good news. When will the first stable version of 5 get live?

    • #251294

      Hello there,

Our team is working diligently to release the revamped version as soon as possible. We are currently aiming to launch it by the end of this month, if everything goes as planned.

That said, with software development, it is not always possible to commit to an exact timeline, as unexpected challenges may arise that could lead to slight delays. We truly appreciate your understanding in this regard.

Please rest assured that we are trying our very best to deliver the revamped version at the earliest, so that our users can explore the new features, benefit from the enhanced existing functionalities, and take their marketplaces to the next level of growth.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.
