      Hi

I have come across a possible issue whereby a vendor is emailed in the ‘new vendor order’ email template the customer details, i.e. contact information. I believe (not an expert) that in the UK this is against data protection unless the customer agrees to it. My personal view and one that I would want to enforce on my site is to remove any customer data on emails to the vendor, to be sure there are no issues with privacy (especially under countries like the UK with data protection laws).

Could you tell me if there is anything that MVX has in place to avoid this, if anything? Additionally what is the list of communications that is sent out by MVX to vendors which contains customer details and how does MVX remove this, is there a configuration option?

      Regards,

      Steve

This is for where the vendor does not need those details for their fulfilment processes

@steven-6784, Thank you for getting back to us. The flow you’re looking for will require custom code to implement. But don’t worry—I’ve shared this with our development team and will keep you updated once I hear back from them.

In the meantime, it would mean a lot if you could leave us a 5/5 review here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/dc-woocommerce-multi-vendor/reviews/#new-post. Your support would greatly motivate the team to continue delivering their best work.

      Thank you!!
I noticed that this might be a bigger issue since there are two other areas I’ve seen where customer data is available to vendors… The CSV download and the hyperlinks on orders in the Banking Overview.

    • #235056

@steven-6784, just to clarify, you want to ensure that customer details are completely hidden throughout the vendor dashboard and vendor new order email correct?

Yes, this might be specific to a vendor’s location for some of your customers otherwise it could be a blanket statement of no customer details can be displayed or available to vendors. I don’t know what other emails this might affect.

References to order contents, order reference numbers, etc is ok but hyperlinks which take the vendor to a page that displays that information would not be suitable.

If this is something of interest for some of your customers for various reasons, this might need more analysis.

@steven-6784, thank you for providing the details. I’ll forward this to the team and will update you as soon as I receive their feedback.

      Hi
Thank you so much for this. Please note that customer data is still appearing here:

      Email
      – vendor new order (billing address displayed)

I haven’t been able to test anything further at this point.

      Regards,

      Steve

@steven-6784, Thank you for getting back to us. The code we provided will remove the customer details from the vendor’s new order email, order details page, and order CSV.

If you need to hide additional sections, you’ll need to apply further customizations on your end. You can use the custom code we shared as a reference for your modifications.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Hi @steven-6784, We’ve verified that the vendor’s message appears correctly in customer emails. See screenshot: https://prnt.sc/VqYP7q76tdvc.

The lengthy text likely results from the vendor entering the entire message in the “Message to buyers” section from their dashboard.
Please double-check on your end and let us know if you need further assistance.

Great to hear that your issue is resolved.
Now it would be really great if you can give us 5/5 review here:

This would motivate the team further to do their job more efficiently.
