I was looking into Stripe’s Destination Charges in order to let my vendors receive their money as they sell something on my marketplace. One needs to be a developer in order to set it up, but then I discovered WCMP has created an addon for it. But then I read that the default Disbursement schedule would act as Destination Charge if set to “hourly”. Would that be really sufficient? Is the system paying out the vendor’s earned money, minus the Stripe commission and minus the marketplace commission? Or what is the addon actually offering more to the basket?

why is this message being marked “spam”?

Hi Cris, let me help you out with the flow :

The default flow of WC Marketplace only handles the payment from the admin to the vendor. Now the admin of the site will get full payment of the order, becasue the customer uses the payment mode enabled via WooCommerce >> Settings >> Payment. (see this scrrenshot – https://prnt.sc/lxbdew)

Now as per WCMp Schedule and payment mode (see this screenshot – https://prnt.sc/m7tciu), the vendor will get their part of the commission.

If you want the vendor to get paid directly when the customer pays for the order, then you may use WCMp Stripe Marketplace (https://multivendorx.com/product/wcmp-stripe-marketplace/), WCMp PayPal Marketplace (https://multivendorx.com/product/wcmp-paypal-marketplace/) or WCMp Mangopay (https://multivendorx.com/product/wcmp-mangopay-marketplace/).
Hence, the admin and vendor will get their part of the money instantly from the checkout page.

thank you for the clarification. I have no problem to pay the vendor using the hourly schedule instead of instantly so I guess I can stick to the default features…. My problem is that I wanted payments to go from buyer to vendor instead of admin to vendor.
And the confusione is created because Stripe Connect uses different methods (Standard/Express/Custom), different charges modes (Direct/Destination/Separate) and it’s not clear what type WCMP is using. They also charge for extra commission when using Connect and I’m not sure WCMP is taking that into account.

Criss, as you need the buyer to pay the vendor directly, in that case, please use our addon WCMp Stripe Marketplace.

Now the stripe charger/stripe modes depend on what business are you looking for. As you can see in the plugin description each type has its own uses : https://multivendorx.com/product/wcmp-stripe-marketplace/

The stripe support team would be able to help you out better on what type to choose.

Now can you please explain this a bit more i.e.They also charge for an extra commission when using Connect and I’m not sure WCMP is taking that into account.

I can see that your add-on is including all Stripe options, only I cannot afford it right now.
Concerning the extra commissions, you can see here that it’s quite unproductive to have users signed up with Connect: they charge 2€ per account, plus more commissions…. if all my 12K users would actually sign up in the market place, I would end up paying 24K€/month to Stripe… not what I call a “good investment”. 🙁
I was hoping not to have extra charges using Connect. Doesn’t WCMP offer other options?

    • #127144

@Criss, as an alternative option you may use WCMp PayPal Marketplace plugin to pay the vendors directly : https://multivendorx.com/product/wcmp-paypal-marketplace/

….that’s not an option, I have all set with Stripe. But aren’t you aware of the Connect extra commissions?

    • #127210

      @Criss
I can understand your end, but as you can see this pricing is added via Stripe itself. We have no control over there. In fact, the stripe can change the pricing rule as per their need.
Now, without stripe connect, there is no way for us to pay the vendors immediately.

That is why we have asked you to check other alternative payment modes.

Hello again, I’m studying this whole payment matter but I have one doubt:
if Stripe Custom should enables me to manage connected accounts without making the users aware of being on Stripe, so why is there an onboarding form when the vendor (in the payment dashboard settings) is connecting with the button “connect with Stripe”? Shouldn’t it all happen behind the scenes?

    • #127381

Criss, as per stripe’s custom account requirement vendor must fill those information: https://stripe.com/docs/connect/custom-accounts

Please note these are for stripe’s own validation, WCMp has no control over that.
