The error message “Error: User denied the request for Geolocation.” constantly pops up on my site for all my users.

I understand from my developer that this is likely due to the Geolocation API that runs in the background on WCMP.

Can I check if this is correct?

And if this is the case, what is the function of the Geolocation API, and is it necessary for us to run that?

And what solution would you have for us to prevent the error message to appearing again.

Thank you for your help and advice.

Hi Melvin, May I know on which page are you getting this information.

We presume it might be on our vendor list page, but we still need confirmation from your end.

      Waiting for your reply.

      Hi,

Thank you for the quick response.

Yes, it is on the vendor list page, as well as the product page.

@Melvin Ho, as per Google’s policy users must provide approval to locate their location. If the user rejects the location, then Google display this error : Error: User denied the request for Geolocation

And what if my platform does not require the user’s location, is there any way to ‘turn off’ the API?

Or can you explain the purpose of the Geolocation API in the WCMP plugin, and the issues we will face if we were to disable it?

This feature is there because vendors add their location through google map and customers search them through google map.

So if you want this feature then google map wont work without API.
But if you don’t want this feature then you can turn off the Map
