Only have direct charges for some vendors

      Hi there!

      Previously, all of my vendors would like the full payment including commission to go admin – so I am using the Separate Charges and Transfers. However I now have some vendors who would like to be paid their vendor commission directly using Stripe Connect and the ‘Direct Charges’ process.

      Is it possible to have some vendors paid using ‘Direct charges’ where the vendor commission is instantly sent to their Stripe account, but have other vendors where the full payment including commission is sent to admin (as per ‘Separate Charges and Transfers’) ?

      On the WCMp > Settings > Payment > Stripe Gateway page under ‘Stripe Charges’, I have the setting as ‘Separate Charges and Transfers’. I am worried if I change this to ‘Direct Charges’ it will change for ALL vendors. I only want to use Stripe Connect for one vendor, not all of them.

      If one vendor sets up a Stripe Connect account via their dashboard, can they be paid instantly using Direct charges, while the other vendors continue to be paid according to the ‘Separate Charges and Transfers’ process (where full payment including commission goes to admin). If so, what settings should I have on the WCMp > Settings > Payment > Stripe Gateway page.

      Hi, thank you so much for your query.
      Currently, we do not have support to set up different payment methods for different vendors.
      The reason is Stripe itself carries the whole payment flow, and it is not supported to handle separate chare types for the same order.

      Therefore you need to use the same charge type in your site.

      Do you know if it’s possible to use the admin’s Stripe Connect account for vendors where I want the full payment including vendor commission to go to admin? That way I can change to direct charges, but still send the the vendor commission to admin for some vendors.

      And sorry one more question, if I go to WCMP > Vendors and view a vendor, on the ‘Payment’ tab I can change the Stripe Payment method to ‘Stripe Connect’. What happens if I change a vendor’s payment method to ‘Stripe Connect’ on the vendor page via WCMP > Vendors, but still have ‘Separate Charges and Transfers’ selected on the WCMP > Settings > Payment > Stripe Gateway page?

      I’m not sure what changing a vendor’s payment method to ‘Stripe Connect’ on the vendor page via WCMP > Vendors actually does?

      Hi, generally stripe needs a separate account to be connected with the admin’s stripe.

      Now as you want to receive the full payment to admin then you can set the admin commission to 100% for that vendor. To configure this, please check this doc: https://multivendorx.com/knowledgebase/how-to-setup-wcmp-commission/

      WCMp can send payment to a vendor only if the vendor has connected their stripe account from their dashboard. You can switch between the payment mode (i.e. between PayPal/Stripe/Bank Transfer) from the admin backend end via WCMP > Vendors, but a vendor must proceed with the stripe connect flow.

      Hey, thanks for the advice, but I’m still a bit confused. I’ll give more context.

      I have 40 vendors and currently full payment goes to admin for all vendors. Stripe Connect is not set up so I use ‘Separate Charges and Transfers’ at WCMp > Settings > Payment > Stripe Gateway page under ‘Stripe Charges’

      Going forward, I want to pay 5 of my 40 vendors with Stripe. For the other 35 vendors, I want to continue with full payment going to admin. This is because only 5 of my vendors have Stripe accounts.

      Can I just connect Stripe accounts for these 5 vendors, and then change the payment mode in WCMp > Vendors to Stripe for these 5 vendors?

      And for the 35 vendors where I want to continue full payment going to admin, can I avoid having to connect these vendors to Stripe accounts, and just set the payment mode to Direct Bank via WCMp > Vendors? Or as you suggest, could I just change admin commission to 100%?

      And then finally, at WCMp > Settings > Payment > Stripe Gateway page under ‘Stripe Charges’ I would change ‘Separate Charges and Transfers’ to ‘Direct charges’.

      Would this process work? All I’m trying to do is pay 5 vendors with stripe and 35 vendors with normal bank transfer.

      Hi @raoul, thanks for clarifying the flow.

      In order to achieve the flow, make sure you have selected the Stripe Charges as Separate Charges and Transfers

      Then ask your 5 vendors to select payment mode as “Stripe” (https://prnt.sc/26bzqrz) and the rest of the 35 vendors ask them to select bank Transfer (https://prnt.sc/26bzqpo).

      In this way, whenever a customer will pay for an order, those 5 vendors will receive their payment in their stripe account instantly. However, as you need to use Separate Charges and Transfers, hence here admin will receive the full money, but the vendor will get their part of the money instantly from checkout. For the other 35, admin needs to manually send them their commission.
