  I have tried to adjust the settings according to my ideas. Unfortunately, the settings under ‘settings’ as well as the selected modules are not saved and ‘fall’ back to the defaults again and again. What can be the reason?

  The problem is solved. It was caused due to the WPML plugin. By deactivating it, everything is fine.
