We are settting up subscription (Saas) marketplace with WcMp and Stripe Marketplace plugin. And we have trouble with autorenewal of subscriptions.

If we disable 3DS option Source status in Stripe is set to “consumed” after first payment. This means that Stipe does not save credit card details for subsequent charges for automatic subscription renewal. We are using Woocommerce Subscriptions to manage subscriptions.

If we set 3DS to on, then at every renewal customer is required to “complete additional authentication step” which means to input 3ds code to some form on the website. This is not an option if we talk about automatic subscription renewal.

What we neeed is auto subscription renewal. Perfect option is to have 3ds at first payment for security. After the first payment we need to make fully automatic renewal. This is nothing unusual, all subscriptions work like this. How do we obtain it with WcMp and Stripe Marketplace?

Update. We made a research and came to a conclusion that wcmp is using api stripe v2. Stripe support teams say that with api stripe v3 automatic off session payments will work fine.

We checked and with stripe api v3 automatic off_session works with 3ds card.

The question is: why WcMp still works with Stripe api v.2 and is there any plan to swith to Stripe api v3?
