Hi, Trying to Limit Vendor from publishing product without approval, but unable to limit

      Case 1:
‘Allow suppliers to submit products for approval/publishing’ is checked => Vendor’s product goes to Approval.
‘Allow suppliers to edit published products.’ is checked => Vendor’s Product can be edited.
Problem: Vendor clicks Submit two times, Product is Auto Published. This is because first Submit worked, and second Submit allowed to publish

      Case 2:
‘Allow suppliers to submit products for approval/publishing’ is checked => Vendor’s product goes to Approval.
‘Allow suppliers to edit published products.’ is unchecked => Vendor’s Product cannot be edited.
Problem: Vendor clicks Duplicate Product. However now Duplicated Product cannot be edited and remains in Draft. Product cannot be published or sent for approval.

      Solution needed in Core:
      a) Disable Submit button if Product is sent for admin approval
      b) Allow to edit & submit Draft Product even if ‘Allow suppliers to edit published products.’ is unchecked
      c) Show a message, ‘Have you made sure the product is correctly set up as you would be unable to edit after submission – Yes/No’

To Add, in both these cases ‘If checked, products uploaded by suppliers will be directly published without admin approval.’ is unchecked

Hi, thank you for your query.
As we cannot recreate this on our end.
Kindly create a staging site and share your admin, ftp access so that we can assist you further.

Tested on Fresh install. Only plugins are – Woocommerce, Wcmp, AFM, WCMp stripe, Wcmp membership.

      Setting is:
Submit Products (checked) Allow vendors to submit products for approval/publishing.
Publish Products (unchecked) If checked, products uploaded by vendors will be directly published without admin approval.
Edit Published Products (unchecked) Allow vendors to edit published products.
Approval Needs to Publish Re-edited Product (unchecked) Admin can review and approve product previously published/edited.

Both problems are there just as I described. I’ll share the site credentials in next post.

      (a) Vendor clicks Submit two times, Product is Auto Published.
      (b) Vendor clicks Duplicate Product. However now Duplicated Product cannot be edited and remains in Draft. Product cannot be published or sent for approval.

      Additionally, 3 more problems:
      (c) No of Products is calculated incorrectly.
For a membership with 2 Products, after submitting first it shows ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan’
after submitting 2nd product it shows ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan’
after submitting 3rd product it shows ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan’
after submitting 4th product it shows ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan’
      .. and so on.
      (d) Draft Products cannot be edited – Product is successfully drafted. Sorry, you are not allowed to edit this item.
      (e) Product Upgrade Limitation doesn’t work – Purchased 1 additional, message is still ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan ‘. So what’s the point of purchasing Product Upgrade Limitation.
      (f) Click Draft Twice. It throws up an error. ‘Invalid Product Status’

How does this make to release without anybody testing very rigorously. This is a key flow. Please fix this.

      Hi,

Our replies are inline with yours-

1.(a) Vendor clicks Submit two times, Product is Auto Published.
      (b) Vendor clicks Duplicate Product. However now Duplicated Product cannot be edited and remains in Draft. Product cannot be published or sent for approval.

      >> We tried to recreate this on your end but didn’t face any such issues.
      Here is the video- https://www.loom.com/share/b68be6b03e7544c3aeea648e0aff7cfa
Now let me explain you the flow-
When you duplicate a product, it already published the product in your site. So, when you will edit this, the system will see as if you are editing an existing product.

Since the publish product is disabled that is why the product is going for admin approval and also since edit product is disabled that is why there is no option for the vendor to edit that product.
Kindly note that there is a small typo. Basically for now if you enable the option “Admin can review and approve product previously published/edited.”, you let vendor publish a modified product : https://github.com/wcmarketplace/dc-woocommerce-multi-vendor/issues/1018
We will fix the typo in our next update. You can keep track of the issue from here : https://github.com/wcmarketplace/dc-woocommerce-multi-vendor/issues/1018

      =========================================================================================================================================================

2.(c) No of Products is calculated incorrectly.
For a membership with 2 Products, after submitting first it shows ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan’
after submitting 2nd product it shows ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan’
after submitting 3rd product it shows ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan’
after submitting 4th product it shows ‘You can add 2 more product as per your current plan’
      .. and so on.

      >> We recreated this on our end and have found this issue.
We will fix this in our next update.

Hi Tithi, when can we expect this to start working properly?

    • #133980

@inkanov, currently our development team is working on a huge update of WCMp 4.0, where we are revamping the full flow of WCMp. Hence until we can release the update, the team can’t start working on this.

Looking for your co-operation regarding the same.

Hi Moumita, this module isn’t working at all – there is no reason to use this module if product limits cannot be kept and multiple ways to skip the limit and vendor gets wrong information. If subscription is required, there are so many other approaches.
This is broken in so many ways – the number of products aren’t being limited, purchasing product limits has no effect, membership subscription isn’t changing with more limits.
Your 4.0 is getting pushed from Oct to mid-Feb and dates are still uncertain. Please do not push this broken module to uncertain dates of 4.0.

@inkanov, for now, we will release an update by next week, so product limitations will work.
After that, we will work on the enhancement.
