Hi,
I’d like to begin with saying that this was previously working and now it is suddenly not…
Upon selecting a membership plan, completing sign-up fields, and navigating to the check-out page – there is no option for the user to place order and proceed to PayPal to set up the recurring payment/subscription. The system just registers them as a customer and they return to the confirmation page (see here: https://ibb.co/HHQXthG). It doesnt set them as pending vendor and send emails.
I have set the price (https://ibb.co/X2zS7m7) and configured it as recurring (https://ibb.co/KNWzV0J). PayPal is also activated (https://ibb.co/S7RL6ZR) and it is working when a customer checks out.
Why is your system suddenly broken? -

@Picflick For recurring subscription plans the user needs to pay with either Stripe marketplace or paypal standard payments (https://prnt.sc/Kx-nTjtRi0XT).
Now in your case as you want your users to pay with PayPal hence from the backend you need to add the option of PayPal Standard (https://prnt.sc/ZaQ_7C8qAuVu). To have this option you need to add the below code in your functions.php file of your current active theme –add_filter( 'woocommerce_should_load_paypal_standard', '__return_true' );
CopyWe have checked the flow of registering for a recurring plan with paypal standards and the flow is working fine. Kindly check the video https://drive.google.com/file/d/10pYiShNGF5gJsMlKnzjyCq2TL3eAWPpZ/view?usp=sharing.
From your shared screenshot it is evident that you are giving your vendors a trial period and also you are not charging any sign up fee. That is why no payment method is appearing on the checkout page.
Kindly follow the above video and configure the same on your end. If you still face issue please let us know. -

Thanks for checking the flow.
You can see from my original screenshots that I indeed activated the ‘recurring subscription’ checkbox for PayPal AND enabled it as a payment mechanism.
I also added the code you provided and it is not working. I am unsure why I need to add this, as it was working before.To explain what I want to do… my intention is for the user NOT to pay a sign up fee. I want them to pay 0 now and then in 7 days the trial period ends and they pay. They are still required to go to PayPal to do this. I emphasize that this previously worked and now it is not. So something changed your side and not mine.
Please urgently revert

@Picflick If you set a recurring subscription plan for which you have set up a sign up fee as 0 only then when a vendor proceeds with this payment (https://prnt.sc/3UruFQ0uVJ9a).
Otherwise stripe/paypal can’t proceed with the payment.
Let us know if you need any further assistance. -
