      Hi MultiVendorX Team,

I am using the latest version of MultiVendorX with the Stripe Connect module (not Stripe Marketplace/Express).

I am building an MVP and prefer to onboard vendors manually via Stripe instead of using Express for now.

I manually created a Standard connected account in test mode via the Stripe Dashboard. However, Stripe does not allow me to assign an email to this test account, and MultiVendorX seems to rely on email to connect the vendor.

So when I log in as a vendor and try to connect to Stripe (even with the same email used during vendor registration), MultiVendorX cannot match it to the test connected account.

Is there any way to manually link a test connected account (created in Stripe) to a vendor profile in MultiVendorX?

If not, can you suggest a test-mode-friendly workflow to simulate payouts with manually-created connected accounts?

      Thanks!

Hi @vassirng, Thank you for getting in touch with us.

In the current MultiVendorX Stripe Connect flow, the admin adds their Stripe API credentials and client ID in the admin dashboard. Vendors then connect their Stripe accounts to the admin’s account via OAuth, all within the website environment. This connection is essential for enabling payouts and is handled entirely through the plugin’s interface.

However, the process you’re referring to—manually creating connected accounts in the Stripe dashboard and trying to link them to vendor profiles—won’t work with our system. This is because MultiVendorX needs vendors to connect their Stripe accounts through the plugin’s built-in flow. If the connection happens outside of this flow, the system won’t be able to recognize those accounts, and as a result, it won’t be able to send payouts to the vendors.

Now It seems like you may be looking for a more streamlined payment experience, where vendors receive their commissions instantly. If that is so please do let us know.

Hi Sangita. This is not exactly what I meant. I will try to explain again. I am trying to test the complete flow using a test Stripe account. Because I am using the MultiVendorX free version, I don’t have the Express Stripe Connect option. All I can see when I want to connect as a vendor is *connecting with an email address which is already linked to an account*. The thing is, when creating a TEST connected account in Stripe, this account has no email by default. How can I connect the *test* Stripe connected account to MVX without an email?

And most importantly, is it possible to test the *entire* flow with Test Stripe only? Meaning:
      1) Customer purchases an item
      2) Vendor moves the status to complete
      3) Marketplace distributes the payments between itself and the vendor

I need to test this entire flow with the Test Stripe but I can’t connect the test vendor because it doesn’t have an email by default. Am I missing something?

Hi @vassirng, Apologies for the earlier misunderstanding, and thank you for clarifying your query.

Yes, you can definitely test the complete Stripe Connect flow using Stripe’s test environment. To do this, you’ll need to create separate Stripe test accounts—one for the admin and another for the vendor—under your Stripe developer dashboard.

      To test the flow properly:
      — Follow our setup guide here: https://multivendorx.com/docs/knowledgebase/stripe-connect/ and configure the admin settings accordingly.
      — From the vendor dashboard (in your test environment), initiate the Stripe connection. You can refer to this section https://multivendorx.com/docs/knowledgebase/stripe-connect/#stripe-configuration-from-vendor-dashboard for assistance.
      — Place a test order as a customer using WooCommerce Stripe payment plugin and mark it as complete.
      — The full payment will appear in the admin’s Stripe test account, and based on the disbursement schedule, the vendor’s share will be automatically transferred to their connected test account.

Let us know if you need any further assistance from our end.

Thanks for confirming I can test the complete flow with a test account. Maybe I am missing something but I already have a Stripe Test account (as a marketplace). When I try to test connecting a test vendor account, I get the attached screen which *only* gives me the option to enter an email of an already existing account. I tried creating a test connected account in Stripe following their guideline but the test account *doesn’t have an email address by default*. If I click on “Skip this form”, the test account remains “Restricted” in Stripe and again, can’t receive test payments.

      What am I missing?

Thanks for getting back to us, and I’m sorry to hear you’re still experiencing issues.

Based on the screenshot you provided, it looks like you just need to enter the Stripe test account email for the vendor to complete the setup for connecting Stripe to the vendor profile.

Since you’re encountering issues on your end, could you please share temporary access to your site with us? This will allow us to review the setup and better assist you.

When sharing access, please remember to mark your reply as private for security.

@vassirng Thanks for getting back to us.

It looks like the issue you’re encountering is related to the Stripe account you’re trying to connect as a vendor. In this case, we recommend reaching out directly to Stripe support. If you share the details of the issue with them, they’ll be able to help resolve it from their end.

Once that’s sorted, you can revisit the flow on your site to check if everything works as expected.

In the meantime, you’re welcome to explore how the Stripe Connect flow works on our demo site:
      Admin Panel: https://multivendordemo.com/mvx/

      Username: mvx_admin

      Password: mvx_admin

      Vendor Dashboard: https://multivendordemo.com/mvx/dashboard

      Username: test_vendor

      Password: test_vendor

Let us know if you have any other questions!

      Hi again,

Thanks for your continued replies. I want to clarify once more because I think we may be misunderstanding each other.

The problem is not with Stripe. The issue is that Stripe does not allow adding an email address to a Standard test connected account. But MultiVendorX needs an email to match the vendor with the Stripe account. This means it is not possible to fully test the vendor connection using a manually created Standard test account in Stripe, because there is no email.

I am not asking to skip your plugin flow. I just want to test the full order and payout flow using the test environment. But I cannot connect a test vendor account because Stripe does not let me assign an email, and your plugin depends on it.

      Can you please confirm:

      1) Is there any way to manually link a Stripe test connected account (with no email) to a vendor profile in MultiVendorX?

      2) Or is it only possible to fully test the connection and payout flow if we use Express onboarding (available in the paid version)?

I am just looking for a way to properly simulate vendor payouts in test mode. If you can suggest any workaround, even with a code snippet or temporary override, I would really appreciate it.

      Thanks again!
