Shipping by Zone

Brief Introduction #

Zone-wise Shipping in MultiVendorX allows store owners to define shipping costs based on specific geographical zones. By configuring different shipping rules for different regions, store owners can offer accurate and flexible shipping rates, optimize delivery costs, and provide a better checkout experience for customers—no matter where they’re located.

Module Required  #

  • Store Shipping

Configuration from the Admin dashboard  #

To begin configuring zone-based store shipping, navigate to MultiVendorX → Modulesfrom the admin dashboard. Under the Shipping Management section, enable the Store Shipping module.

Once the module is activated, go to MultiVendorX → Settings and open the Shipping tab. Here, locate the Zone-Based Shipping option and enable it to continue with the configuration.

After enabling the shipping method, click on settings, then click on the Add Zones option provided. This will redirect you to the WooCommerce Shipping Zones page, where shipping zones can be created and managed. From this section, the admin can define shipping zones based on regions and add Store Shipping as the shipping method for each zone.

Assign shipping method “Store Shipping” to let each store set it’s own shipping costs for that zone.

Once the zones and shipping method is configured, the store owners will get the option of defining their own shipping methods for the added zones by the admin in their dashboard.

Admin Configuration for the Zone based Shipping for the Stores  #

The admin can also manage and configure shipping settings for individual stores directly from the dashboard.

  1. To do this, navigate to MultiVendorX → Stores and select the store for which shipping needs to be configured. Click on the Settings option for the selected store to access store-specific configurations.
  2. On the store settings page, open the Shipping tab and select Shipping by Zone as the preferred shipping method.
  3. Here, the admin will see the shipping zones that were previously created in the WooCommerce shipping settings. For each listed zone, the admin can assign appropriate shipping methods. Available shipping methods include Flat RateFree Shipping, and Local Pickup.
  4. These methods allow the admin to define how shipping charges are calculated and applied for each zone. Detailed explanations of each shipping method are covered in the following sections of this documentation.

  • This cost can be:
    • Based on order value (using formulas)
    • A simple fixed amount
    • Based on quantity

When Flat Rate is selected inside a zone, the following options are available:

The base shipping cost applied to the entire cart.
Additional per-item or conditional costs can be configured using advanced cost rules.

  • This is an additional cost added based on product shipping class.
