Brief Introduction #
Displaying the location of a store provides significant benefits for both store owners and customers. When a store’s location is visible on a map, nearby customers can easily locate and visit it, increasing local engagement and foot traffic. Additionally, having the store location available helps in calculating shipping costs more accurately based on distance.
With the MultiVendorX Geo-Location Module, stores can add their exact location to a map, making it easy for customers to find them. This feature enhances the shopping experience, improves store visibility, and supports efficient operations.
Required Module #
- Geo Location
Configuration of the module from Admin dashboard #
To set up the Geo-Location Module, the admin should follow these steps:
- In the Admin Dashboard, go to MultiVendorX → Modules
- At the top, click Store Management to filter related modules
- Find Geo-Location and enable it
Once the Geo-Location Module is enabled,
- Go to the Settings submenu under MultiVendorX
- Navigate to Store Configuration
- Select Geo-Location to configure all location related settings
The available settings are as follows:
- Show Map On – This option allows the admin to choose where the store map should be displayed:
- Store Listing – Display a map on the page that lists all stores, making it easier for customers to locate them.
- Shop Page – Display a map on the Store’s shop page showing the store’s location.
- Both – Display the map on both the store listing and Store shop pages for maximum visibility.
- Map Provider – Choose the map provider to use for displaying store locations. Options include Google Maps and Mapbox.
- Google Map API Key – Enter your Google Maps API key to enable the display of store locations using Google Maps. Refer to the official documentation to obtain your key.
- Mapbox Access Token – Enter your Mapbox access token to display store locations using Mapbox. Follow the Mapbox documentation to generate the token.
- Location Search – Define how customers can control the search radius when looking for nearby stores, helping them find stores within a specified distance from the Store Listing page.
Add Store Location from the Store Owner Dashboard #
Store owners can add the location of their store to help customers find it easily. To add their store location, store owners must:
- Go to the Store Owner Dashboard and navigate to Settings.
- Select the Business Address option.
- Once the page loads, the store owner can add their store address.
Store List page #
On the store list page, all the store pages are displayed. To create this page, you need to add the shortcode below on your store list page:
This shortcode will generate a page with all stores listed, where you can sort the stores using the following filters:
Shipping Address
Location
Category
Product
